Knights Of Cydonia

Knights Of Cydonia
"Knights of Cydonia" was the third single to be released from Black Holes and Revelations. It was featured in BBC Radio 1's "Track of the Week" in the week starting 22nd/23rd October.[3]

It was reported that an extended version of "Assassin" was to be the B-Side for the "Knights of Cydonia" single on the offical Muse site.[4] This was later clarified to be for B-Side to the vinyl and non-preordered digital formats, and that the name of it is "Grand Omega Bosses edit".[5] "Grand Omega Bosses" is an anagram for 'Debase Masons Grog', or 'Message Board Song', a former title during the 2005 cryptography game, used to signify the then-untitled, extended version of "Assassin" on a setlist.

It was announced as the third single from Absolution in September 2003,[1] shortly after which Matt confirmed that the b-side would be "Eternally Missed".[2] The artwork for the 7" cover was chosen in a competition announced in October 2003, and the winner was Adam Fulkus.[3] The DVD includes a gallery of photos of the runner-up images.

Muse EP

muse ep
The first record released by Muse. The EP was recorded over two days after Sawmills Studio based Dennis Smith offered the band free studio time.[3] 999 copies of the EP were released, each with a hand numbered sticker. Further unnumbered copies were issued to radio stations and journalists, while numbered copies were sold via mail order and in independent record stores, including KMA in Torquay and Solo in Exeter.[2]

The EP was recorded in 1997,[1] mastered by February 1998,[4] and released on the 11th May 1998[2] on Dennis Smith's Dangerous label. The recordings on the album differ from those later released on Showbiz, for example, "Overdue" is longer and features additional choruses. As the Muse EP is highly sought after by fans and collectors, Muse EPs on eBay can reach prices of the order of several hundered GBP. Howard authored the artwork,[5] by photocopying his own face. A similar piece of artwork can be seen on a poster for "Muse" in the film 12 Monkeys
